Türkiye nears deal for the 3rd nuclear power plant with China

Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar announced negotiations with China for Türkiye’s 3rd nuclear power plant have made significant progress and that the deal could be finalized "in the coming months".

If the deal is finalized, it will be China's largest investment abroad.

The project has been under negotiation between Türkiye and China for the past few years.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi visited Türkiye in late July to discuss the issue.
