Michigan was the clearest test for AIPAC. Abdul El-Sayed narrowly defeated Rep. Haley Stevens in the Democratic primary despite a large outside-spending advantage for his opponent.

United Democracy Project, AIPAC’s super PAC, spent more than $30 million attacking El-Sayed or supporting Stevens.

It was the group’s largest primary investment.

UDP continued spending against him after the primary. Before the general election, reports documented just over $500,000 in additional expenditures targeting him as he faced Rogers.

The White House warned more than 3,000 conservative groups that it is monitoring their public statements following Republicans’ crushing midterm defeat.

The warning comes as prominent Republicans blame Trump’s tariffs and the Iran war for losing control of Congress.

The administration says the memo is not a threat but an effort to keep its increasingly divided conservative coalition united.

Marco Rubio defended Trump's war with Iran despite acknowledging its political costs and impact on fuel prices.

“Higher prices at the gas pump, I acknowledge, is not like the kind of thing you campaign on and brag about,” Rubio said.

He argued that Trump “deserves a tremendous amount of credit” for taking action despite its unpopularity, adding that leadership requires doing things that may not be “politically popular or expedient” but are necessary for the country's long-term future.

Trump:

The Stock Market suffered one of the Worst Days in History based on the results of the Election. Such a sad thing to watch!

It took so much work to get us to a level that no one has ever seen before, and then this. Your 401(k)s have, therefore, dropped. Remember, it wasn’t Republicans, it was Dumocrats.

Do not fear, however, we will soon, one way or the other, be BIGGER AND STRONGER THAN EVER BEFORE. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

Democrats are planning to roll back Trump’s tariffs on Canada after winning control of Congress, with Sen. Ron Wyden leading efforts to repeal the levies and restrict the president’s power to impose tariffs unilaterally.

Some Republicans in border states also oppose the measures, raising hopes of bipartisan support.

However, Democrats may struggle to secure enough votes to overcome a Senate filibuster or presidential veto.
