That's just the fact. If you can't admit that to voters, then you're gaslighting them, and they're not going to listen to you on other things.

I can tell you Trump has been advised, and I think you've probably seen the reports, where people have told him this is going to drag on for the rest of his presidency.

If it drags on for the rest of his presidency, it's going to be devastating to his ability to get anything done, and it is going to be very, very difficult for Republicans in the next cycle.

Every time they go to the gas pump, they're reminded that gas is higher. A lot of people didn't like the Iran conflict.

You also have other things that have happened with general inflation. DC is a total mess.

Our candidates are running into the wind on that, and the Democrats have more momentum.

Four years ago, Biden was president. The Democrats were demoralized because he wasn't doing a good job. They knew that.

The atmospherics are different now. Democrats are energized.

Our voters are not as energized, largely because of some of the stuff that's been happening nationally and at the gas pump.

I had a guy come up to me and say, "Man, I was here in 1980, and I think you're going to be a better president than Ronald Reagan."

And then he looked at me and said, "And if Trump weren't running, I'd vote for you."

I had a lady come up to me. She's like, "I think you'd be a better president than him, but what they're doing to Trump, I've got to go."

I just ran into a brick wall.

Our founding fathers believed you could have the best Constitution in the world, the Declaration of Independence — if the people in office don't display some civic virtue about public service being a sacrifice, it's not to use public office for private gain.

And we see so much of that in DC right now.

I didn't know what Trump was going to do initially, and then they kept indicting him, and he got more popular.

Think about this. How crazy is this? You run for office, you usually think it's a good thing if your opponent gets indicted.

I'm sitting there praying, "Don't indict him. Don't indict him," because I know he's going to get more popular.

I just think having Kristi Noem be the secretary was a mistake.

She wanted these conflicts. I think she wanted them because it created news and created conflict.

That's not the way you do it.

Only Trump can pull that off. Only Trump can pull it off. You can't do it.

These candidates that go out there and try to do that, you've just got to be yourself. You're never going to be him. He is one of one.

He can do things that any other person did, they would never be able to be in public life ever again. And he does it all the time.
