Seven bipartisan U.S. senators, led by Jeanne Shaheen, accused Trump of violating a 2022 law banning Russian energy imports by allowing Russian diesel fuel into the U.S.

The senators said the administration failed to consult Congress or provide the legally required justification, warning that the imports could help finance Russia’s war against Ukraine.

They demanded that the administration immediately reverse its decision.
