Trump said that Ukraine needs a new president. With all due respect to Trump, it's up to our people to choose their leader.

Zelensky: Because these people can't find a key to how to stop Putin.

It's more difficult to stop Putin than to pressure others.

Zelensky:

Everybody understands that because of the war in the Middle East, prices are rising. They're increasing because of the war in the Middle East, the blocking of the Strait of Hormuz.

Everybody understands it. If we want to speak with people fairly, if we want to be clear, if we want to speak with our nations openly, people have to hear reality. Don't play games with people.

I want our tax dollars spent here, not dropping bombs on other people over there.

We shouldn't be fighting these wars, whether it's a tariff war in Canada or a hot war in Iran.

Abdul El-Sayed:

I am so grateful to have been a young man in my twenties with Barack Hussein Obama as president. I would never have seen myself running for office.

Abdul El-Sayed on Obama:

Just think about the circumstances in which Obama came into office.

An economy that had fundamentally failed, on the brink of crisis. We are certainly better off than we would have been had there been another president.

When you look at our healthcare system, so much better after President Obama than before.

When you look at peace in the Middle East, you look at the cause of peace with Iran. He had negotiated a JCPOA.

He'd made peace with Cuba. So much better than before.

Abdul El-Sayed:

I actually think we need some targeted tariffs.

NAFTA has been a cancer on the American economy. So if you've got cancer, you might choose to treat cancer with some chemotherapy, right?

Chemotherapy, though, is poison. So you don't give it all. You dole it out in very particular ways in the hope that it will kill the cancer and save the patient.

Abdul El-Sayed:

I want money out of politics, money in your pocket, Medicare for All. I want a Democratic Party that is ready to win on those issues.

So I'm going to work with anybody, including President Trump, who famously can't remember my name, to get those things done.

The Biden administration was essentially AWOL when it came to actually drawing clear lines and using our leverage.

And in the end, that amounted, in my view, to complicity in the horrors in Gaza.
