UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported that an outbound tanker was struck by an unknown projectile on its port side in the Strait of Hormuz on October 10, causing a fire on board.

The U.S. Justice Department is investigating whether ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC and Fox News violated antitrust laws by jointly suspending White House TV pool coverage of President Trump.

The networks suspended coverage for several days after Trump barred CNN journalists from the White House on September 18, leaving some presidential events without major network footage.

The Justice Department argues the coordinated suspension may constitute an illegal group boycott.

U.S. forces struck and disabled a Panama-flagged commercial cargo ship in the Gulf of Oman on Saturday after it allegedly ignored warnings and attempted to breach Washington’s naval blockade of Iranian ports.

CENTCOM said the strike targeted the ship’s propulsion system without injuring its crew.

Ukrainian drones struck a Yandex data center in Russia’s Vladimir region, forcing it to shut down completely.

The attack was linked to major disruptions affecting more than 80 Yandex services, including music streaming, taxi services, AI tools, smart home systems and Yandex Cloud infrastructure.

Western intelligence agencies have warned that Russia is stepping up assassination plots against European defense executives as part of a broader campaign of sabotage aimed at weakening support for Ukraine.

Officials from five European intelligence agencies said senior executives, particularly those involved in drone manufacturing, are being targeted by Russian operatives.

Russia’s GRU military intelligence agency is reportedly working more closely with organized crime groups and cross-border networks to plan attacks and monitor potential targets.

Several defense companies have increased security for their executives, while others have relocated production sites over Russian threats.

Sri Lanka says it has no immediate plans to assist 19 Iranian oil tankers stranded in international waters near its coast, despite reports of food, water and fuel shortages.

The vessels have been stranded for months following the U.S. naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

Sri Lanka says it must prioritize national interests and consider the risk of U.S. secondary sanctions, although Washington has issued no direct warning.

Japan protested Russia’s extradition requests for ICC President Tomoko Akane and eight other officials, calling the measures “unjust and unacceptable.”

Moscow issued warrants for the nine officials following the ICC’s 2023 arrest warrant for Putin over alleged war crimes in Ukraine. A Russian court sentenced them in absentia last year.

Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi criticized the sanctions, reaffirming Japan’s support for the ICC and pledging to continue engaging with Washington.
