💠Plea Bargaining
⚛It refers to an accused criminal negotiating with the prosecution for a lesser punishment than what is provided in law by pleading guilty to a less serious offence.
⚛It involves pretrial negotiations between the accused and the prosecutor.
⚛Plea bargaining was introduced in CrPC in 2006
⚛Plea bargaining is not allowed for:-
⚛A person charged for an offence that attracts the death sentence, life sentence or a prison term above seven years
⚛Offences affecting the “socio-economic conditions” of the country
⚛Offences committed against a woman or a child below the age of 14.

💠Ocean thermal energy conversion (OTEC)
⚛A process or technology for producing energy by harnessing the temperature differences (thermal gradients) between ocean surface waters and deep ocean waters.
⚛OTEC uses ocean temperature differences from the surface to depths lower than 1,000 meters, to extract energy.
⚛A temperature difference of at least 20°C can yield usable energy.
⚛Oceanographic conditions in tropical and subtropical regions, where warm and salty surface water overlies colder and less salty deep water, are more suited to OTEC.
