Cisco is giving certifications for the competences under the networking field. CCNA Routing and Switching Certification is one the most significant Associate Engineer level certification.
There is no prerequisite for CCNA Routing and Switching certification. To get the certification candidates have to pass the following exam (current valid exam):

Cisco Certified Network Associate (200–125 CCNA)
OR
Passing two Certification Exams
Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 1 (100–105 ICND1)
And
Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 2 (200–105 ICND2)

ICND1 – Covers the first two Modules (Module 1- Introduction to Networks; Module 2- Routing and Switching Essentials)
ICND2 – covers the last two Modules (Module 3- Scaling Networks; Module 4- Connecting Networks)
