Closed in very good moment. Exactly before pump and stop loss 😏
Use a pre-trade journal to inspect a decision before finding reasons to defend it.

Write a short note covering the thesis and the evidence behind it. Separate what is observable from what is merely expected. Include one fact that would weaken the idea.

Next, record invalidation and risk: what would end the thesis, how loss would be managed, and whether the exposure fits the plan. If these points are unclear, the journal has already found a reason to pause.

Finish with an emotional-state check. Is the decision driven by a defined opportunity, frustration after a loss, or fear of missing a move?

Keep the original note. Review the decision process later alongside the outcome; a profitable result alone does not prove that the process was sound.

Educational content only. Not financial advice.
A useful trading journal records the decision as well as the result.

CME Group's education material recommends recording why a trade was made and reviewing the record later. A profit or loss figure alone leaves much of that reasoning invisible.

A simple learning note can have three parts:
• Observation: what could be checked at the time?
• Interpretation: what did you think it meant?
• Review: which assumption held up, and which one needs revision?

One review habit: keep the original note and add the review beneath it. That makes a changed explanation easier to spot and avoids rewriting a decision with hindsight.

The lesson is about learning from a process. It makes no claim about a strategy's returns and offers no instruction to open a trade.
The close matters more than the first reaction

Kraken BTC/USD spot: latest completed hourly close $83,750.10. The chart uses 24 closed hourly candles; the live candle is excluded.

A candle still forming can cross a level and finish back inside it. Decide in advance whether your process uses an intrahour touch or a completed close, then journal that rule consistently.

Separate the chart from the story

Latest closed hourly BTC/USD spot candle on Kraken: $84,128.60. Observation 12 Oct 10:00 Riga.

The chart records price. It does not prove why a move happened. Before attaching a headline to it, check both the event time and the publication time. An explanation that arrives later is still an interpretation.
