🤔The more I trace this, the more the language matters.

In 1933, Congress said the discovered and potential wealth underlying the national domain “belongs to all of the people of the United States.”

Then, over the following decades, that public wealth became increasingly centralized under federal custody, regulation, and management.

But look at what happens later.

👉Under Obama, Interior said federal resources are managed “for the good of the American people, who all share in their ownership,” and explicitly argued that the public should receive a fair return from development of those resources.

👉Under Trump, Interior used essentially the same language: federal resources are managed “on behalf of the American people, who all share in their ownership.”

Then comes 2025.

👉Trump orders a plan for a United States Sovereign Wealth Fund, declaring that national wealth should be stewarded “for the sole benefit of American citizens.” The White House went even further, noting that the federal government directly holds trillions in assets and that, when natural-resource reserves are included, the underlying asset value is much larger.

But hypothetically?

It is almost exactly the legal and philosophical framework you would want already sitting there:

The people are the beneficiaries.
The government is the custodian.
The nation owns massive resources and assets.
Those assets generate revenue.

A sovereign wealth fund gives you a mechanism to preserve and compound that wealth instead of simply consuming it.

Maybe the real story isn't that somebody suddenly invented a U.S. Sovereign Wealth Fund in 2025.

Maybe the pieces had been sitting in the law, the language, and the federal balance sheet for generations.
Different administrations.
Same rails.

Update on David:

This is Erin, David’s wife. A million thanks to everyone who has reached out with prayers and encouragement for David and our family. God is with David and we can feel the prayers of His saints and His miraculous protection.

Yesterday, David was having mild chest pains that he didn’t think were serious for about an hour, which suddenly became very severe. I was away from home, but his mom was visiting us and rushed him to the hospital, which is only a block from our house. He was taken directly into surgery where he died on the table, but the doctors shocked him back and placed one stent in an artery which was completely blocked. The doctors said it is a miracle that he’s still here with us. A few minutes longer and there would have been no hope.

He has had excellent care. He will be in the ICU for at least another day as they keep an eye on him. He had a restless night, but the pain and high blood pressure are being brought under control and he was able to sleep and eat a little bit this morning.

David has wrestled with heart issues since he was a young adult. The doctors will do follow up testing to see if he needs any further surgeries to prevent another emergency like we had yesterday. Please continue to pray for wisdom for the doctors, and for healing for David’s heart.
