Ginther and Governor Mike DeWine about refusing ICE assistance, we would like to take a moment and remind you that section 2921.44 of the Ohio Revised Code makes it a criminal act for any police officer to neglect their duties in apprehension of criminals. Subsection A1 states that dereliction occurs when an officer refuses to serve a lawful warrant without delay. Subsection A2 states Fail to prevent or halt the commission of an offense or to apprehend an offender, when it is in the law enforcement officer's power to do so alone or with available assistance. If you continue to unlawfully order the police in this state to not cooperate with federal law enforcement, we will begin filing criminal charges against every officer in the officers chain of command. FOP Capital City Lodge #9 Brian Steel, as the capital city FOP president, make sure your lodge understands we aren't making threats, we are talking cause and effect.
