Looking over old drawings of Serpent Mound located in Ohio, I finally noticed the scarab facing the serpent. Why would an Egyptian symbol be on an earthwork in Ohio? And furthermore, why would this feature have disappeared over time? Also disappeared over time are small wings on either side of the serpent. So now my question is - Is this a serpent or a dragon? (See old drawings of dragons below)
