The bottom of the card says read the Chicago Herald and Examiner every day for Chapter News. Was this a ploy to increase readership/profits for the newspaper? Who was the owner at that time?

William Randolph Hearst

That seemed to go nowhere (for now) but then my friend reminded me of this, the Chicago Red Sox Curse. What is it with Chicago and Goats?
Here is the story: The Curse of the Billy Goat was a sports curse that was supposedly placed on the Chicago Cubs Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise in 1945, by Billy Goat Tavern owner William Sianis. The curse lasted 71 years, from 1945 to 2016. During Game 4 of the 1945 World Series at Wrigley Field, Sianis's pet goat, named Murphy, was bothering other fans, and so the pair were asked to leave the stadium. Outraged, Sianis allegedly declared, "Them Cubs, they ain't gonna win no more", which had been interpreted to mean that the Cubs would never win another National League (NL) pennant, at least for the remainder of Sianis's life. Then I thought about "goat carts" and children. Think Little Rascals (if you have been down that rabbit hole). There are SO many photos. There has to be a connection somewhere.

I seem to remember a goat cart or just a goat in Little Rascals. Anyone remember that?
Then there is the whole deal with Bush Jr, reading I Pet Goat on 9/11. Like I said. So many directions. The mystery of the Brotherhood and Sisterhood of the Goat continues. Hopefully one of you can contribute.
Interesting. Telling where to check for power outages. You feeling it? πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯☝🏻☝🏻☝🏻☝🏻
Another thought: Billy Debeck was also the cartoonist for Snuffy Smith. William Hearst sought him out for his newspaper cartoonist. I am wondering if this was a ploy to paint the people of the Appalachian region as a bunch of ignorant hillbillies. The Appalachians are rich in coal, oil and the first gold rush in the US was in the Appalachians. Interesting......

There were so many shows painting the Appalachians in "mindless hick" kind of way.
