#Let's improve our speaking
๐ญ๐Today we are about to share audio from one of the IELTS books.
We carry on. Send your voices and improve your knowledge ๐ You can make it possible. Only thing that you should do is record yourself and send to us. We evaluate and give some feedbacks.๐๐
Recording 2 B
What do you remember about your early childhood?
Oh, I remember being very happy! I have a lot of great memories of my childhood. In fact, my sisters and I often
reminisce about it. Perhaps when you look back everything seems better, but our summer holidays seemed to go on
forever and the sun always seemed to be shining.
Nowadays, if we ever have a hot summer day. it always reminds me of my childhood holidays.
Do you think you have a good memory or a poor memory?
Well, when I was younger I think I used to have a very good memory. I used to be able to memorise long lists of dates
without any trouble. But f find it harder and harder to remember things these days, so now I'd say my memory is quite poor. When I'm studying I find I have to think up strategies to help me, like visualising something associated with a particular word. I even forget important things sometimes, so I have to write myself little notes as a reminder.

๐ผ Welcome O Ramadan from Towards the Light
๐ค by Zain Bhikha
Welcome o ramadaan
Your are honoured
O month of the qur'aan
It is ramadaan
O one who sleeps
Stand up and declare
The oneness of Allah
O one who fasts
Stand up in prayer at night
And Allah will forgive
O you believe
Give charity
For the pleasure of Allah
O you who believe
Read the qur'aan
Every night of ramadaan
O you who believe
Look out for the night
Most blessed of all nights
O you who believe
Take hold of this night
And lament to Allah
O you who believe
At the end of Ramadaan
Don't weaken your iman
O you who believe
Give thanks to Allah
For the month of Ramadaan
Enjoy listening and singing๐๐๐

โRamadan Suhoor time lessons
What's Ramadan?
Ramadan is a very important time in the Islamic calendar.
This year's Ramadan will be a bit different, as the coronavirus outbreak means that many people will not be able to visit friends and family, or their local mosque.
This is because of worldwide 'lockdowns' which are helping to stop the spread of the disease.
During the month of Ramadan, Muslims won't eat or drink between dawn and sunset. This is called fasting.
Fasting is important during Ramadan as it allows Muslims to devote themselves to their faith and come closer to Allah, or God.
Fasting is one of the Five Pillars of Islam, which form the basis of how Muslims live their lives. The other pillars are faith, prayer, charity and making the pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca.
Ramadan is also a time for spiritual reflection, prayer, doing good deeds and spending time with family and friends.
Normally, people will make a special effort to connect with their communities and reach out to people who need help.
It is common to have a meal (known as the suhoor) just before dawn and another (known as the iftar) directly after sunset.
At the end of the fast - when the sun has gone down - usually, families and friends will get together for iftar to break their fast.
Many Muslims also usually go to the mosque to pray, when lockdown restrictions aren't in place.
Some mosques have been holding virtual services online for people to watch together.
Why does it fall now?
Ramadan falls during this month because this is when the holy book that's followed by Muslims, called the Qur'an, was first revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, but the date changes each year.
This is because Islam uses the lunar calendar (based on the cycles of the Moon), so it isn't a fixed date in the Western/solar calendar.
Does everybody fast?
Not everybody fasts during Ramadan.
Children who haven't reached puberty, pregnant women, the elderly who are at risk of health problems and those who are ill, or who are travelling, don't have to fast.
What happens at the end of Ramadan?
There is a special festival to mark the end of Ramadan. This is called Eid al-Fitr - the Festival of the Breaking of the Fast.
It begins when the first sight of the new moon is seen in the sky.
Muslims will not only celebrate the end of fasting, but will also thank Allah for the help and strength that they were given throughout the previous month.
Often children are given presents and new clothes.
