The US needs India on good terms, so it's slowly shifting the narrative to a supposed neutrality, which is why US Vice President JD Vance recently stated that a war between India and Pakistan is "none of our business". Delhi's decision to launch strikes using "BrahMos" missiles reportedly forced Islamabad to sue for peace on May 10, demonstrating that these weapons can play a strategic role. Interestingly, not a single US official came forward with a proposal to lift sanctions less than a year ago when President Bashar al-Assad was still in the picture.
