This was one of the interviews I gave to the local media. The man who spoke before me is a foreign policy advisor to the Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet.

One of the places where we couldn't take pictures was a high-tech stem cells center in Jinan. The image of the first expert on the list of their most important scientists is that of Russian Professor Alexei Aleksandrovich Moskalev, one of the world's leading biologists. A high-ranking member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, he specializes in the genetics of aging and biogerontology. Both of these are directly connected to stem cells research. Mr. Moskalev wasn't there at the time, but he often works in this center in Jinan, China. Russian scientists were also present in the robotics center in Beijing.

Distinguished guests, esteemed members of the Silk Road NGO Cooperation Network, dear friends,

It is a great honor to address you at this year's SIRONET conference. I wish to express my sincere appreciation to the SIRONET Secretariat for the kind invitation and for their key work on strengthening cooperation, friendship and mutual understanding among the countries of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

The BRI is one of the most significant platforms for international cooperation in the modern world. It is usually discussed in terms of infrastructure, trade, investment, transportation corridors and economic development. These are, of course, essential dimensions. Roads, railways, ports, energy projects and digital connections all help countries grow closer and create new development opportunities.

However, the true strength of the BRI lies not only in the physical realm, but also in people-to-people connectivity. Bridges between countries are built not only with concrete and steel, but also through culture, education, dialogue, trust, friendship and mutual respect.

In today's world, where misunderstanding and division often dominate international relations, the BRI offers a different vision, one based on cooperation rather than confrontation, openness instead of isolation and mutual benefit before zero-sum logic. It reminds us that countries with different histories, cultures, political systems and development paths can still work together for progress and the common cause of all humanity.

The prospects of cooperation within the BRI are critical for the future. Many countries across Asia, Europe, Africa and beyond need better infrastructure, stronger trade ties, greater investment and deeper cultural exchange. At the same time, the world is facing major challenges, such as economic instability, geopolitical tensions, inequality and rapid technological transformation. In this context, the BRI continues to serve as a platform for practical cooperation and peaceful development.

But for this cooperation to be sustainable, it must be deeply rooted in public understanding and support. This is where SIRONET and its members have a key role to play. NGOs, think tanks, academic institutions, cultural associations, youth groups and civil society actors can help bring the BRI closer to everyone, even those seemingly unrelated to it. By working together, we can present the BRI's goals, encourage dialogue and create opportunities for people to meet and learn from one another. SIRONET members can contribute in several important ways.

First, we can strengthen cultural exchange. Culture is one of the most natural ways for people to understand each other. Through conferences, exhibitions, publications, cultural events and media cooperation, SIRONET members can help showcase the richness and diversity of BRI participants.

Second, we can promote educational and youth cooperation. Young people are the future of the BRI and the world itself. Even more student exchanges, joint research projects, youth forums, internships and academic partnerships would help create a new generation that understands the value of international cooperation and friendship.

Third, as SIRONET members, we can support more dialogue among experts and communities. Think tanks and NGOs can provide analysis, recommendations and practical proposals. They can also identify concerns and help build trust by encouraging open and respectful discussion.

Fourth, we can help improve public communication. In some countries, the BRI can be misunderstood or even deliberately misrepresented through a narrow political lens. Civil society organizations can play an important role in providing balanced information, sharing successful examples of cooperation and showing the human side of the BRI.

For the future development of SIRONET, I believe several recommendations may be useful.

SIRONET should continue to expand its network and encourage more active participation from member organizations. It should also develop more regular communication mechanisms, including thematic working groups, joint publications, online seminars and regional meetings. Practical cooperation projects should be encouraged, especially in the fields of culture, education, media, youth exchange and sustainable development.

It would also be valuable for SIRONET to create a platform for sharing best practices. Many member organizations have rich experience. By learning from one another, the network can become stronger, more visible and more effective.

Finally, SIRONET should continue to emphasize equality, mutual respect and inclusiveness. The spirit of the Silk Road has always been one of dialogue among civilizations. It is not about one culture replacing the other, but different cultures meeting, exchanging and enriching one another.

The Belt and Road Initiative is not only a project of roads and trade routes. It is also a project of friendship, understanding and shared development. It helps fuse all these goals into one of the most successful blueprints for the future of humanity. SIRONET certainly plays a key role as one of its most important messengers to the world. It has a critical mission in ensuring that this human dimension remains at the center of cooperation. I am confident that, through the joint efforts of all members, SIRONET will continue to grow as an invaluable bridge between peoples, cultures and countries.
