In Grunwald, 1933, 4500 Catholics pledge allegiance to Adolf Hitler. Here the priests have just blessed the crowd.

It is alleged that the German state was opposed to Catholicism. However, the National Socialist government allocated one billion Reichsmarks to the Catholic Church in Germany per annum. These resources were spent on the building and maintenance of churches, and other ecclesiastical activities.
