Okay so i want to talk about common misunderstandings with ADHD.
As the common knowledge is, people think that ADHD is mainly just trouble with "focusing" on tasks, its commonly portrayed as someone who switches focus frequently and cant stay organized. This image is driven by a misunderstanding of how ADHD works and incorrect assumptions about how the human mind works. The common image of ADHD furthermore can be harmful and used to spread stereotypes or give plainly wrong advice on how someone with ADHDs mind works. To understand ADHD we have to dismantle common misunderstandings of how the human brain actually processes task initiation and motivation. The first idea is the idea of "willpower". Willpower is seen as ones ability to directly control their actions to achieve a goal, however the reality is that your *direct* control over your ability to initiate and perform and more of an illusion than what's actually happening in your mind. Where your consciousness resides is not where the signals to physically move your body are, your consciousness and "logical mind" are somewhat* separated from your body's main biological functions. Your decision to do something and its subsequent "signal" has to travel to other parts of your brain to physically tell the cells and receptors to generate the chemicals necessary to give you the ability to start and complete the decision. Another concept is your view of full bodily autonomy. For context, and to further the point on how your "logical you" is not sound and all controlling, your ability to eat, your emotions, thinking all takes physical energy. Thinking for example requires physical bloodflow to supply the sheer amount of energy to produce the chemicals that allow you to synthesize and understand concepts, neurotransmitters like dopamine, require ATP to be manufactured, and generating the electricity that forms the networks of what you call thinking requires a MASSIVE amount of energy. The (probably ego driven) perception that you are in direct control of your bodies ability to function when the conditions for optimal functioning are not met is entirely false. The necessary delivery of energy and production of chemicals to make those signals will result in failure of those signals to reach the neurons they need, leading to decreased awareness in situations where you are dehydrated or blood sugar is low. How you retain your memories through sleep is also an example. The difference between your short term memory and your long term memory is quite big. Short term memory, similar to learning, is neurons firing repeating patterns across the brain in waves, this is what keeps the short term memory "alive". During waking hours the brain sort of "takes notes" on the specific patterns being made, and when sleep happens (REM) the neurons literally grow appendages called dendrons, which physically connect to other neurons, forming new patterns and storing memories in physical form, this is why long term memory can last so long as it does. Go too long without sleep, the ability to store all of your memory in your brain by sending the signals back and forth become cumbersome and energy intensive, theres a limit to what you can learn while you are awake. The short explanation of how the neurons grow doesn't explain myelination or any other related processes which are also a vital step but thats besides the point. The point is, again, what you think of as "you" is not the full you, "you" are manipulated by the rest of your brain to survive, and that survival and functioning is DIRECTLY related to your ability to feed its further functioning. You are not in "direct" control in the same way you think you are, or atleast not to what you think you are (however concepts like responsibility still apply). This leads back into an understanding of mental disorders, most mental disorders have to do with the physical structure of the interaction between your conscious and unconscious.

For example, Psychopathy (Antisocial Personality Disorder), Any psychopath can fully understand the concept of empathy and probably tell you in detail how it works, but the structure of their brain makes them physically incapable of felling and therefore acting within the influence of empathy. Someone with Borderline Personality Disorder is still capable of logical thought and fully understanding of the consequences of their actions, but the unconscious mind's effect on their current state of consciousness during certain situations is extremely powerful leading to what people view as the symptoms of the disorder, mind thats not how the disorder itself works I dont know how BPD works specifically. And finally, the ADHD mind is similar to both (almost all mental disorders) in that the ability for the brain to physically "ready" the body and mind to after making a decision is greatly impeded if not completely blocked. The baseline level of neurotransmitters required to allow the signaling to "follow through" is increased because of this. People may see that people with ADHD seem like their ability to physically initiate decisions is inconsistent, and that is not because of "willpower" or "laziness", it is because of times of extreme stress, the body can generate enough neurotransmitters to allow the partial ability for this signal to go through. However these levels of stress are quite literally physically and therefore mentally damaging, and its extremely unhealthy for someone with ADHD to use or be tricked into using that as a method of motivation. The main times (atleast what ive noticed for me) where the decision->action pipeline is able to be completed are times of excitement, meaning times of happiness or high confidence and similar. This is not a willpower, alertness, focus, concentration, or motivation issue. The biological functions that make you "you" are fragile processes that are DIRECTLY affected by your environment and executive functioning. Mental disorders are not some thing to be looked down upon, and especially not to be looked at as a personal failure of the individual. Any attempt to do so is misinformed or may be doing it for manipulation purposes, such as the common view in politics that a persons failure to leave a dangerous situation (such as poverty, medical debt, medical problems, unfair working conditions, etc) is their fault. ADHD, and other mental disorders, are obviously, and physically, not the fault of the person. The implications of misunderstanding of the concepts that make up normal brain function and mental disorders can and have been extremely harmful for everyone, especially those with said mental disorders. If you are suffering with a mental disorder, do be aware it is NOT a personal failure in any way.

damn studying the RPI2040 datasheet and looking at the silicon really give some respect for just how advanced the hardware really is. Its crazy its been a week or 2 and i started with barely understanding what SPI was and now im figuring out how the the physical block diagram lays out to the actual die layout, long story i want that perspective because i want to know EXACTLY where signals are traveling every clock cycle. Given i had a bunch of random foundational knowledge here and there but god damn.
While it might not be able to implement a TOCTOU attack by mimicking a bios chip from skylake era motherboards, figuring this out will give me insight into how powerful the pico is in relation to MCUs the teensy 4.1 (most powerful MCU on the market rn) and how it works and its abilities. If that doesnt work, FPGAs it is and thats a whole other level of different and difficult (fun)

not exactly but yeah in spirit i guess
jailbreak is such a weird word where did it come from anyways lol

I wanna hear later about anomalies, like life without sleeping at all, strange abilities like surviving extremal conditions with high/low temperatures and of course — solutions
