BREAKING: Per Ivory Hecker, as ordered by Federal Judge Kenneth Hoyt, US Marshals have just taken into custody True the Vote's Catherine Engelbrecht and Gregg Phillips for contempt of court due to their refusal to release the name of a confidential informant. The case stems from allegations that Konnech, an election software company, has illicit ties to the Chinese Communist Party.

Earlier this month, Konnech's CEO was charged by Los Angeles prosecutors with illegally giving its contractors in China access to sensitive data as part of a "massive data breach." The investigation into Konnech was triggered by a complaint from Gregg Phillips of True the Vote. Konnech has said the allegations are false, and last month it sued Phillips, Engelbrecht, and the organization for defamation.

This month, Federal Judge Kenneth Hoyt ordered True the Vote to release the name of a confidential informant who tipped them off about Konnech's alleged criminal activity. True the Vote refused.
