🇪🇨⚠️ — URGENT: A second leader of a criminal gang called Los Lobos escaped from prison amid the ongoing chaos in the country; Fabricio Colón Pico, alias "Capitán Pico," and alleged head of the Los Lobos gang, escaped from the Riobamba prison.

💬 Regarding the escapes of Colón Pico and Adolfo Macías, alias "Fito" and leader of the Los Choneros gang—who escaped from a prison in Guayaquil—the Secretary of Communication, Roberto Izurieta, said in an interview with a local digital media outlet on Tuesday that they fled from the two Ecuadorian prisons because they no longer consider them safe for criminal activities.

"With all the strength of the State and the country's political determination, I am convinced that these two fugitives will be found. These two fugitives are on the run because the safe haven they had is no longer secure."

‼️ Colón Pico's escape occurred amid prison tension and other acts of violence in the country, during the state of emergency declared by President Daniel Noboa on Monday due to a "serious internal disturbance."
