The letters of Henry Joy McCraken have just been added to the site.

He was one the leaders of the United Irishmen in Ulster. Commander of the rebels in the Battle of Antrim, following their defeat he was hung in Belfast in 1798.

The letters contain his writings from his time in Kilmainham Jail, the lead up, and the aftermath to the Battle of Antrim.

The North Began by Eoin McNeil is now available on the site.

MacNeil is famous for co-founding the Gaelic League along side Douglas Hyde. But his legacy is controversial with him issuing the counter-order that prevented thousands more volunteers joining the Rising.
