from inside current struggle
What is it like to continue to operate near or within the severest violently intersectional situations, staying awake amap, more or less desperately exploring how to positively, effectively interact with self and groups, while ongoingly exposed to ‘hostile environments’?
- and friends, I’d so like to be able say ‘what it WAS like’ - but for now, below is a glimpse into one complex perspective
(Some of y’all out there •I know• are also thusly experiencing similar hardcore intensity - hoping these vibes might help some of us feel recognizable, and able to be cared about. )
This space can hold a lot. Let’s help one another find ways and center.
“
Another lyric relevant to these situations is this one from Pig / Raymond Watts that's basically a "battle in the center of the mind" (see TV Tropes) depiction of nearly going insane, somatic impacts, narcissistic defenses, shadow work, mania, 'psychosis'...
It gives a reference point to social issues as well as cross-references with the “Triage Trauma” article and “Five keys to personal transformation"
... that all circle back to the need for dialogue, inquiry and reflection and taking into account context….
….intergenerational historical and global story context with the 'different possible futures' + 'let it be' + and "knowledge is needed" lenses + curiosity and wonder capacities and a whole further list of reference points - like now Alison Bailey's article about anger, silencing, and epistemic injustice.
"Bodyhammer Bodyhammer
Brain burn smoulder
Soft head hard shoulder
I've eaten dirt from the shakin' shiver boys
I hid the hurts and my yellow liver voice
The night stick beats the prayer and the poise
My skin flicks at the sound of my voice
Another pound "put it on the yoke"
While a miscarriage of justice is lost on the ropes
Bodyhammer I'm lost on the ropes
Bodyhammer I'm lost on the ropes
Bodyhammer I'm lost on the ropes
This is the eve of agony and ecstasy
This is the seed of terror times and tyranny my odyssey
I can do anything
This is the down of lunacy our legacy
This is the root of vacancy and bigotry
Bodyhammer
Bodyhammer
Bodyhammer
Bodyhammer
I can do anything
I can see everything
I can do anything
I can see everything"
