Para as crianças, parece que afinal a escolha era mesmo apanhar uma gripe chata ou arriscar a uma inflamação no coração. Muitos médicos avisaram, expuseram-se, escreveram cartas e olharam de frente apenas para levar com processos disciplinares. Muitos cientistas foram cancelados, isolados e procrastinados por alertar algo óbvio - no grupo etário das crianças e jovens, a inoculação covid não tem qualquer benefício. E os riscos existem.

Que sentido faz então andarmos a desejar Bom Natal uns aos outros?

Na ilustração uma composição de fotografias de imagens de Nossa Senhora da Expectação, mais conhecida por Nossa Senhora do Ó, uma devoção ibérica oficializada no Décimo Concílio de Toledo (656 d.C.), e, por sinal, devoção e imagens que fazem muitas cócegas a muitos que se dizem cristãos, e fazem-no porque tornam absolutamente evidente que Maria engravidou e pariu: «E o Verbo fez-se carne e habitou entre nós» (Jo. 1,14).

In the late 1600’s in colonial Boston, the celebration of Christmas was against the law. Indeed, anyone evidencing the “spirit of Christmas” could be fined five shillings. In the early 1800’s, Christmas was better known as a season for rioting in the streets and civil unrest.1 However, in the mid-1800’s some interesting things changed the cultural response to the feast and, in 1870, Christmas was declared a federal holiday (which is to say that prior to 1870, Christmas was not a day-off in America). What happened?

So how will Russia proceed towards the end game?
Dima of the Military Summary Channel discussed yesterday how two big moves, one up from the Mariupol area and one down west of Kharkiv, can cut all railroad lines that connect west Ukraine with the eastern frontline where some 80+% of the Ukrainian army is now deployed.
I agree that the move from the south will happen but I am less sure about the northern branch.

The other day I ran across something Nietzsche said: “Madness is something rare in individuals — but in groups, parties, peoples, and ages, it is the rule.” That made me think of white people. There aren’t that many of us, individually, who are locked up in the nuthouse, but sometimes I think the entire race ought to be.
