They are having a vote to make the Emergencies powers permanent. It is a rule that once the system gives itself power, it will never give it back. This is how we become a Soviet style dictatorship.

Ukraine and Russia are on the verge of kicking off a potential World War, and they're not declaring martial law. In Canada all it takes is a few trucks protesting covid tyranny and the system basically declares martial law.

All the border blockades are done, and all the trucks are towed away. The "state of emergency" which did not exist to begin with, is over. The emergency powers have nothing to do with the trucker protest. The same way the patriot act had nothing to do with catching foreign terrorists.

The events themselves are power grabs, and will be used on Our People. Even if you have nothing to do with funding the truckers or participating in protests. Merely offering moral support to the protesters or questioning the system will be enough. Peaceful protest only let's the system know who they need to go after first.
