This Christmas was set up to be the worst Christmas yet. I had promised myself that it would be better than last Christmas yet I stood at the kitchen sink thinking I was set up! Not only had I been praying for years for reconciliation and to have a relationship with my grandchildren but now my dog had died just a few days before. As I was standing there the Holy Spirit spoke to me… why won’t you let me comfort you? And like the video- I was honest- I don’t trust you anymore! His response- why? So I started to go through all the times He hadn’t seen me, heard me…. He said - make a list of my faithfulness to you. So sat down with pen and paper to write my list. I looked at my phone and there were 2 videos from a friend 1 was a beautiful worship song and the other a review of a sermon on why God doesn’t answer prayers. Last Christmas was the VERY BEST Christmas ever! I was able to take my guard down and let God minister to me. I became lighter from the weight being removed and my face, though I was unaware previously, stopped hurting. I definitely have a renewed relationship with the Trinity.

I couldn’t find it in any translation that I have on the Bible app on my phone, so I asked Grok. Here was the answer:
This text — “Do not lose hope in times of trouble for God is working in the unseen. His hand is steady and his timing is perfect and bringing good out of difficulty.” — is not a direct translation from any standard Bible version.

Dear friends, as you know I am a huge fan of the famous eagle pair Jackie and Shadow. They laid there 2nd clutch of eggs after they lost their first. We celebrated and are hopeful this will be a success. However, I have heard the Shadows’ beloved mate Jackie has not shown up to the nest all night which I understand is unusual. I am closely monitoring the situation. She is usually the primary nest sitter, but she has not been seen, so Shadowed did his egg watch duty pitifully calling for her at times for relief as though it seems he needs his breaks too.
May I ask for prayer for her, that she will return?
Also, of note, there are plans for developers to build resort condominiums within a few miles of Jackie and Shadow’s habitat, that the Friends of Big Bear Valley have been raising funds to oppose this project. Let’s hope there is no nefarious attempt to rid these beautiful creatures to gain this project. I hate to think of the worst. I’ll post below the statement from FOBBV below. It is Saturday morning and things are not as they usually tend to be at the Big Bear Bald Eagle Nest. Jackie has not been seen in the habitat area since 11:44 AM PST Friday. We last heard and saw her chortling and soaring on Cam 2. Shadow guarded the eggs in the afternoon. He took the night shift as well, and did a great job. This morning Shadow briefly left the nest a few times and was seen soaring higher and higher on C2 likely scanning the area for his mate.
This is all of the information we have at this time. We know that this is upsetting and it is OK to feel how you need to feel. Try to avoid panicking. Try to stay calm and lean on each other. Love and positivity are the strongest powers that we have, so let’s use them.
This is not easy for our team either, but Sandy would tell us to avoid going straight to the worse case scenario. If you need to step away please do so. We will update you as soon as we know anything. Our team will answer your questions as best we can and as we learn more.

Testimony Tuesday
There are times I often think of people that I prayed for in the past but never saw or heard from them again. Like when I pray for strangers and years go by and I think and pray for them when they cross my mind. I think about what might have happened to them, “I hope they are okay”…are some of the thoughts I’ve had about them.
I believe when we get to heaven we may find ourselves pleasantly surprised who we see in heaven.
If you believe in the power of prayer then today’s testimony will encourage you even more.
There is no time stamp on prayers, or expiration date. Once the prayer leaves are lips, it’s already in motion.
There will be times we may never know the outcome of those prayers we prayed for someone until we get to heaven. Or, we may not know until many years later. We may wonder what happened to that person, then all of sudden someone comes knocking on your door and the person you prayed for shows up.
Today’s testimony is about just that. A true story of a man named Victor Marx. His testimony is remarkable to say the least. He shares a snippet of an incredible testimony about persistent prayer from a stranger he never met before until God asked him to do something that would be painful. He obeyed and it became one of his greatest blessings from the Lord.
If you don’t know Victor Marx’s story, you can find plenty of YouTube videos about him. He suffered one of the worst childhood abuse traumas and is now serving the Lord. You can find his full story on The Shawn Ryan Show on Youtube. (I’ll post the link below.)
One cool fact about Victor is he is renowned to be the fastest gun disarmer in the world, to my knowledge. Again, there are plenty of YouTube videos of him demonstrating that. Also, he is a martial arts expert. He has a ministry called All Things Possible, he and his wife are involved in. They travel all over world saving children from abusive situations.
Remember, your prayers are in action the moment you say them. Keep praying for those the Lord places in your heart. You never know how God will use them in their life, because you prayed.
“I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy, for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;”
Philippians 1:3-6
