It wasn’t a show of boasting or anything like that. When you are with friend who is a like minded in Christ, there is something about that. It inspires you to be more bold and courageous for the cause of Christ. Ok, back to the story. I know you are curious as to what happened, right?
As Paula and I arrived to our destination in the PSU Union Hall where the blood drive event is happening, everyone is getting there equipment ready and setting up computers, etc. One co-worker nurse named Kathy made an interesting statement and said out loud for everyone to hear.
“Did anyone happen to notice how happy Paul seemed this morning?”
“I’ve never seen him smile before, and he seemed to be in a really good mood. He always seemed so sad before”
When I heard this, I looked at Paula and she heard it too, we just looked and winked at each other and we knew Paul had read the love letter from God.
Now, come back next week and I’ll tell you what happened next...just kidding!
As always, we packed up on the last day of the blood drive, and waited another 3 months. It so happened that the next blood drive at PSU I wasn’t assigned there that time. I thought about Paul and prayed for him. Another three months passed, when I was finally assigned once again to PSU blood drive. I didn’t know it yet then but it would be my last time I was going to work this blood drive.
As I began my day, I thought of Paul and wondered if he was still there after all these past six months since the day I gave him God’s love letter and gift. When I pulled up to the Kiosk it was a different person, young girl. I asked her what happened to Paul. She told me he was taking the day off but should be back tomorrow. I wondered what I would say to him when I saw him next. I waited. The next morning I pulled into the parking structure, sure enough, there was Paul. This time his countenance was different from what I seen before. His eyes lit up when he saw me pull up. He said, “I knew I would see you again, I’ve been waiting for you to give you this” he said with a grin.
He handed me a small square envelope. We exchanged greetings, and I told him how much I appreciated him being here faithfully every morning. I wished him well and blessed him. He said thank you so much”. He gave me my pass, and I drove and parked my car, and sat quietly for a moment thanking God for the opportunity to make a difference. I opened the envelope. Inside was the sweetest note, and a gospel CD. Below is the photo of Paul’s note.

I read that and began to cry. I was so thankful that God allowed me to experience this encounter with a stranger. I knew then, that God was saying to me. “See? It doesn’t take much, just keep planting the seeds, I will bring the harvest”.
I never saw Paul again after that day. I had left the Red Cross shortly thereafter to pursue a career with a more stable schedule.
I often think of Paul when I come across his note. I keep it inside my bible resting at the page where 2 Chronicles 16:9 is found.
“For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him…”
It is a reminder to pay attention to God’s voice. You never know when He can use you, but just be willing. I was the one truly blessed.
From then on I decided I would be open to whatever God assigned me to do for Him.
Two things here. No. 1 God is waiting for His faithful servants who are willing to step up to the task.
No. 2. Physical obedience brings spiritual release... always!Unless you are willing to step out of your comfort zone you will never experience the true manifestation of God’s power.

“Satan knows that he cannot destroy you. Too late for that. The best he can (and he intends to make full use of it) is to make your time on earth futile and unproductive, to suffocate you with sin, insecurity, fear and discouragement until you are unable to live freely and fully.
He can’t “unseat” you, but he can intimidate you and render you ineffective and paralyzed.”
—Priscilla Shirer, The Armor of God
This is why we Christians need to be very grounded in our faith. Get into the Word daily. Our identity is in Christ, and this is the one thing the enemy wants you to doubt because he knows that once you find out who you are in Christ, his tactics are less effective. —Paula

This is from Praying Medic. His YouTube channel is where I got Red Pilled a few years ago. He was a former atheist and God transformed him. He helps you identify when God is speaking to you. Sometimes, we think our thoughts are our own not realizing God is speaking to us. He teaches you how to step out in faith and trust God for miracles. This is another good read for sure!

Mental Discipline for the Digital Soldier
Military drill instructors have many goals when training new recruits. One goal is instilling mental toughness.
We're currently fighting an information war. As with any type of warfare, digital soldiers must develop and maintain the right mental attitude if they're to be victorious.
When complaining is allowed in the ranks of an army, it lowers the morale of the entire unit. For that reason, drill instructors do not tolerate whining. They demand mental toughness.
Mental toughness is the mindset that despite present perception of negative circumstances, accomplishing the mission is the top priority, the team is adequately prepared for any and all obstacles, and victory will be achieved when the team overcomes the obstacles it faces.
Your enemy is constantly evaluating your posts, and trying to develop a strategy to defeat you. Presenting a public appearance of mental toughness removes any strategic advantage they might gain over you.

Heartbreaking to see this. But their courage speaks louder and is inspiring! 👇🏼
Sometimes when I am in my War Room the cat in this case my daughters cat Finnegan A.KA. Finney, comes in when he hears me praying out loud. I pray with my emotions. That is just how I roll. I think Finney gets concerned and jumps up on my desk and will lay down. Animals are so responsive to our human emotions. At least in my case. I grabbed my phone to take this photo of him and his sweet display of concern. Thank you Lord for gracing me with your presence through animals. 🙏🏻❤️😽
Quote of the day
“God never expects you to take on the giant without fighting the lion and the bear first.”
David’s darkest moment became the back door to the throne room and the next thing, he became king.
I don’t believe anybody reaches their potential until they learn to stand alone and strengthen themselves.
The story of David and Goliath is one of my favorite hallmark of faith stories of the Bible.
The main theme that really speaks to me with this event, is that David knew his God. He had confidence, and his identity was in God and what God can do. He trusted and relied on God, but not before he was tested first.
All of us are given tests, whether we realize it or not. God is training and equipping you all the time. It is up to us to acknowledge who God is and how we apply ourselves in any given situation with His presence in mind.
God wants us dependent on Him alone, fully surrendered by faith. Only then, will we see the victory in our battles.
So, the next time you are in the heat of a battle.
Press into God and ask Him to show you how to stand against the lions and bears in your life.
One day, not if there will be a giant, but when there is a giant. You will go forth with the confidence that God goes before you grounded and equipped to stand up against the opposition with the authority of God within you.
“Your servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.” Moreover David said, “The Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” And Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you!””

Testimony Tuesday
Sweet Alyssa
During the summer of 2019 my step father had taken ill and was not doing very well. He lived in a small town in Nevada near Carson City (Gardnerville). I received a call from my sister stating he was taken to the ER twice in one week for what we thought was a stroke. One of my dad’s friends happen to be at his home and had called 911 when he had passed out. He was hospitalized and was given a diagnosis of Myeloid Leukemia. His prognosis was anywhere from weeks to 6 months to live.
All of us siblings live out of state. We knew that our dad was getting up there in age, and we knew that he was getting more frail. He has been widowed twice. He lived alone, but he had many friends from his church community. All three of us siblings decided we needed to be with him.
My sister and I decided to fly to Reno the day after Fourth of July . I live in Portland, Oregon, and both my brother and sister live in Southern California. After my daughter dropped me off at the airport, I made my way to the designated airline terminal. I arrived early. Very few people were waiting there also. I sat and prayed and thought about my dad. I also thought about who would I sit next to me on the plane. A thought came across my mind. I remembered my prayer from that morning. “Lord, give me an opportunity to encourage or reach someone today”. As I sat and waited for my flight to arrive, I watched the terminal fill up as people trickled in. As the time got closer for the flight, there were hardly any seats left.
A young woman traveling by herself sat next to me. She looked like she was in her twenties. Very young. She was outgoing and we struck up a conversation. She told me she was visiting a friend in Southern California, and she had a stop over in Reno. She asked me where I was heading. I told her that my dad was dying and I am on my way to see him in Nevada. She offered her condolences, and we kept talking, and kept checking the time to see when boarding started. In the meantime Southwest Airlines was having a contest, and looking to give away vouchers with discounts on your next flight with them. The Flight agent made a public announcement and asked “Does anyone have a penny from the 1960’s, first one to raise their hand, gets a $25.00 voucher”. (I thought sarcastically, ‘how generous, how about a free flight?”) Everyone was digging in their pockets or purses. The young woman next to me started looking for her penny, then I started to also. We both laughed at how everyone was looking for the same thing. We finally introduced ourselves. She told me her name; Alyssa.
The announcement came over the PA our gate was now boarding. Alyssa and I stood at our designated numbered places. She stated “ I hope I get a window seat and we get to sit together”. I told her that I would be boarding the plane first and I will make sure she will get a window seat, and sit together.
I boarded first and found two seats available. Southwest Airlines does not assign seats. It’s a pick your seat when you board kinda deal. I knew the Lord would put us together.
Alyssa boarded and I waved her over to my seat. I held her seat next to the window. We buckled our seatbelts and our short journey began.
Over the course of our flight, we shared a little bit about our lives. She shared that she is a mother of a 3 year old with a disability. I shared about going to see my dying father. We talked about many things. She also shared she had come out of an abusive relationship with her previous boyfriend her daughters father, and recently met a young man she is currently dating who seems to be devoted to her and her daughter. She confided that she’s had a history of being in abusive relationships with men, and felt like she finally found someone that really cares about her. She mentioned she was hoping to get into this new apartment that she really needed her own place. Her mother was taking care of her daughter while away.
Over the course of the near 2 hour flight to Reno we got to know each other. I was able to minister to her.

Over the course of the near 2 hour flight to Reno we got to know each other. I was able to minister to her.
I asked if I could pray for her, she agreed. I prayed and thanked God for putting her on this flight with me and and thanked Him for loving and pursuing Alyssa, and to help her get that apartment, and watch over her little daughter.
Alyssa started to cry. She said she believed in God, and wondered how things were going to work out in her life. I shared God’s love with her and said “If you draw near to Him, He will draw near to you, and that He is a faithful good Father and a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. He is so forgiving. Just cry out to Him and He will hear you” Alyssa kept crying, and said “This is good that I am with you, I believe I need to make things right with God, I want to change”.
“God hears you Alyssa, just ask Him” I said.
“You’re amazing”! She said
“No, you’re amazing, because you are a wonderful mother to that little girl, and you are doing a great job as a single parent. You never gave up on her, when most people probably would have aborted their babies when they find out something is wrong with them.”
I happen to have a God pocket wallet in my carryon bag. I reached down to get it and said to her, “God has something else for you Alyssa”. I told her the story of how I ask God every morning to show me someone to reach or encourage. I told Alyssa, “I believe He sent you for me, and me for you”
It was evident the Holy Spirit was working in her heart. I handed her the little fabric wallet and told her I make these little wallets and put God’s gift inside, and sometimes He lets me know who it is going to go to. “He just now reminded me of it and I believe He wants you to have it Alyssa” “This is from Him, I am just the delivery agent”. She looked at the wallet and said “you made this?” I nodded my head. She opened the wallet and started to sob. Luckily we were sitting towards the back of the plane, and the plane engine noise was kind of loud and I was glad for the distraction because she was just sobbing her heart out. Inside the wallet was two crisp $100.00 dollar bills .She kept saying to me “you’re amazing, you are amazing, thank you, thank you”
I said to her “Alyssa, no; God is amazing!” He orchestrated all of this today, He put us together on this plane, He is pursuing you and wants a relationship with you if you just trust Him.”
She kept nodding her head, and blowing her nose. The Holy Spirit was beginning His work and I was grateful to be a part of it. I had the privilege of witnessing God bring this young woman into His kingdom.
We kept hugging, and crying together, and I told her one last time “God is so good and He loves you!”, and He wants you to know that He cares so much for you Alyssa and your daughter. He is the one you need to thank”.
I wanted her to make sure she knew that God had done all of this and this was not fate or chance. It was all planned.
God answered my prayer and sent me someone to encourage.
Our plane began its decent to Reno. We kept talking as she finally composed her self. She kept saying, “things are gonna change now”. A thought had crossed my mind and I believe God wanted me to share it with her. I said to her; “Alyssa, I want to warn you, the enemy doesn’t like what has happened here today, but I want to remind you. The devil is a liar and when you get off this plane he is going to tell you nothing happened. He is going to try to convince you that this will not last and things will go back to the same as before. Don’t believe him!” I said firmly.
I let her know that God is the good, good Father, and He will keep her. Just cry out to Him when you feel overwhelmed, and don’t pay attention to the enemies voice. She nodded her head.
As we were moments away from landing, we exchanged phone numbers. I told her to text me to let me know how she is doing. She agreed. I told her I will be praying for her. She thanked me and we hugged one last time. As the plane docked in the Reno terminal we hugged each other for the last time and we said our goodbyes. She stayed in her seat to continue her flight to Long Beach, California.
