Considering I live in Florida, and the above scenario presumes an impact deadline or impact date, I'd pack my essentials into my vehicles and drive north west of the Appalachians. You'd have to figure anything east of the mountains would be destroyed and under water from Florida to Maine.

Given this absolute crisis, I need all of you reading this to fully imagine what would happen to this country. The total destruction and carnage you'd witness the following day if you were lucky enough to survive.

There are more than a few movies that expand on this premise, all of them end in one way.. those who survived, would have to restart the American experience.
