France held secret drills for troop deployment to Ukraine in case of attack from Belarus
French special forces conducted exercises last fall simulating a potential intervention in Ukraine, according to Intelligence Online. The French military spent several weeks training at a highly classified location as part of the operation, which was named "Perseus."
The drills were reportedly based on lessons learned from Ukraine's defense against the Russian invasion in February 2022.
Over 3,000 French soldiers participated, training on terrain designed to mimic the area around the Dnipro River north of Kyiv. The exercises focused on preparing French forces to counter a possible Russian advance from Belarus.
