Some states in southern India have banned the manufacture and sale of Coke, Pepsi, Sprite, and other “soft drinks”, claiming they contain high levels of pesticide residues. Hundreds of Indian farmers have even been recorded using Pepsi & Coca-Cola to spray their crops, as it’s 10 times cheaper than buying the chemicals, yet keeps the plants bug free.

Both Pepsi and Coca-Cola have denied reports in the past alleging their products are being used as pesticides, stating there is no proof that any of the individual ingredients in their blends can be used for pest control.
