Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads out there!

I remember when my first son was born. The first day, I was totally grossed out. 😂

I really didn’t feel anything that first day. I was too busy in my own head thinking about all the changes that would have to be made.

It wasn’t until the second day, when that damn lady walked in & asked to take some pictures. She said taking the pictures were free, we didn’t have to pay for them, but would get a free complimentary photo.

My wife & I agreed, but in the back of our minds we already knew we were not going to spend any money because at that time in our lives things were tight for us. But…Why not get a free photo out of it?

So, we took the pictures & a few hours later the lady came back & that’s when everything changed…

She played some sad, emotional music in this video full of photos of us.

Slide after slide, I began to see myself in this little person that was just born.

Slide after slide, my heart felt like it was being ran through a meat grinder.

The photo that broke me was when he was laying in my hand… alls I kept thinking was I gotta take care of this little dude & I don’t wanna fail him.

I broke into tears. I was ready to hand over my wallet to this lady.

Day after day…

His first smile, first crawl, first walk, first DaDa… first laughs… first boo boo. First day of school, first soccer game.

5 years later, we had our second son. Alls I could think about the entire time was I can’t wait to relive all those memories again.

Here we are today…

We went camping for Father’s Day this weekend & I’m the only one awake this morning… I woke up next to the most beautiful & innocent faces I will ever see.

Being a father is my greatest joy.

I am their rock, their teacher, their provider, their protector, their guide.

And I still have not/will never fail them.
