CVE-2025-22124 - Linux Kernel Clustermd Memory Corruption Vulnerability
CVE ID : CVE-2025-22124

Description : In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: md/md-bitmap: fix wrong bitmap_limit for clustermd when write sb In clustermd, separate write-intent-bitmaps are used for each cluster node: 0 4k 8k 12k ------------------------------------------------------------------- | idle | md super | bm super [0] + bits | | bm bits[0, contd] | bm super[1] + bits | bm bits[1, contd] | | bm super[2] + bits | bm bits [2, contd] | bm super[3] + bits | | bm bits [3, contd] | | | So in node 1, pg_index in __write_sb_page() could equal to bitmap->storage.file_pages. Then bitmap_limit will be calculated to 0. md_super_write() will be called with 0 size. That means the first 4k sb area of node 1 will never be updated through filemap_write_page(). This bug causes hang of mdadm/clustermd_tests/01r1_Grow_resize. Here use (pg_index % bitmap->storage.file_pages) to make calculation of bitmap_limit correct.

CVE-2025-22125 - "Linux MD RAID: Ignored IO Flags Vulnerability"
CVE ID : CVE-2025-22125
Published : April 16, 2025, 3:16 p.m. | 1 hour, 20 minutes ago
Description : In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: md/raid1,raid10: don't ignore IO flags If blk-wbt is enabled by default, it's found that raid write performance is quite bad because all IO are throttled by wbt of underlying disks, due to flag REQ_IDLE is ignored. And turns out this behaviour exist since blk-wbt is introduced. Other than REQ_IDLE, other flags should not be ignored as well, for example REQ_META can be set for filesystems, clearing it can cause priority reverse problems; And REQ_NOWAIT should not be cleared as well, because io will wait instead of failing directly in underlying disks. Fix those problems by keep IO flags from master bio. Fises: f51d46d0e7cb ("md: add support for REQ_NOWAIT")

CVE-2025-22126 - Linux Kernel MD Device UAF Vulnerability
CVE ID : CVE-2025-22126
Published : April 16, 2025, 3:16 p.m. | 1 hour, 20 minutes ago
Description : In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: md: fix mddev uaf while iterating all_mddevs list While iterating all_mddevs list from md_notify_reboot() and md_exit(), list_for_each_entry_safe is used, and this can race with deletint the next mddev, causing UAF: t1: spin_lock //list_for_each_entry_safe(mddev, n, ...) mddev_get(mddev1) // assume mddev2 is the next entry spin_unlock t2: //remove mddev2 ... mddev_free spin_lock list_del spin_unlock kfree(mddev2) mddev_put(mddev1) spin_lock //continue dereference mddev2->all_mddevs The old helper for_each_mddev() actually grab the reference of mddev2 while holding the lock, to prevent from being freed. This problem can be fixed the same way, however, the code will be complex. Hence switch to use list_for_each_entry, in this case mddev_put() can free the mddev1 and it's not safe as well. Refer to md_seq_show(), also factor out a helper mddev_put_locked() to fix this problem.

CVE-2025-22128 - "Linux Kernel ath12k WiFi Shared IRQ Affinity Hint Vulnerability"
CVE ID : CVE-2025-22128
Published : April 16, 2025, 3:16 p.m. | 1 hour, 20 minutes ago
Description : In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ath12k: Clear affinity hint before calling ath12k_pci_free_irq() in error path If a shared IRQ is used by the driver due to platform limitation, then the IRQ affinity hint is set right after the allocation of IRQ vectors in ath12k_pci_msi_alloc(). This does no harm unless one of the functions requesting the IRQ fails and attempt to free the IRQ. This may end up with a warning from the IRQ core that is expecting the affinity hint to be cleared before freeing the IRQ: kernel/irq/manage.c: /* make sure affinity_hint is cleaned up */ if (WARN_ON_ONCE(desc->affinity_hint)) desc->affinity_hint = NULL; So to fix this issue, clear the IRQ affinity hint before calling ath12k_pci_free_irq() in the error path. The affinity will be cleared once again further down the error path due to code organization, but that does no harm.

CVE-2025-23131 - "IBM DLM null pointer dereference vulnerability"
CVE ID : CVE-2025-23131
Published : April 16, 2025, 3:16 p.m. | 1 hour, 20 minutes ago
Description : In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dlm: prevent NPD when writing a positive value to event_done do_uevent returns the value written to event_done. In case it is a positive value, new_lockspace would undo all the work, and lockspace would not be set. __dlm_new_lockspace, however, would treat that positive value as a success due to commit 8511a2728ab8 ("dlm: fix use count with multiple joins"). Down the line, device_create_lockspace would pass that NULL lockspace to dlm_find_lockspace_local, leading to a NULL pointer dereference. Treating such positive values as successes prevents the problem. Given this has been broken for so long, this is unlikely to break userspace expectations.

CVE-2025-23133 - Ath11k Linux Kernel Out-of-Bounds Write Vulnerability
CVE ID : CVE-2025-23133
Published : April 16, 2025, 3:16 p.m. | 1 hour, 20 minutes ago
Description : In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ath11k: update channel list in reg notifier instead reg worker Currently when ath11k gets a new channel list, it will be processed according to the following steps: 1. update new channel list to cfg80211 and queue reg_work. 2. cfg80211 handles new channel list during reg_work. 3. update cfg80211's handled channel list to firmware by ath11k_reg_update_chan_list(). But ath11k will immediately execute step 3 after reg_work is just queued. Since step 2 is asynchronous, cfg80211 may not have completed handling the new channel list, which may leading to an out-of-bounds write error: BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in ath11k_reg_update_chan_list Call Trace: ath11k_reg_update_chan_list+0xbfe/0xfe0 [ath11k] kfree+0x109/0x3a0 ath11k_regd_update+0x1cf/0x350 [ath11k] ath11k_regd_update_work+0x14/0x20 [ath11k] process_one_work+0xe35/0x14c0 Should ensure step 2 is completely done before executing step 3. Thus Wen raised patch[1]. When flag NL80211_REGDOM_SET_BY_DRIVER is set, cfg80211 will notify ath11k after step 2 is done. So enable the flag NL80211_REGDOM_SET_BY_DRIVER then cfg80211 will notify ath11k after step 2 is done. At this time, there will be no KASAN bug during the execution of the step 3. CVE-2025-23134 - ALSA Timer Mutex Deadlock Vulnerability
CVE ID : CVE-2025-23134
Published : April 16, 2025, 3:16 p.m. | 1 hour, 20 minutes ago
Description : In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: timer: Don't take register_mutex with copy_from/to_user() The infamous mmap_lock taken in copy_from/to_user() can be often problematic when it's called inside another mutex, as they might lead to deadlocks. In the case of ALSA timer code, the bad pattern is with guard(mutex)(®ister_mutex) that covers copy_from/to_user() -- which was mistakenly introduced at converting to guard(), and it had been carefully worked around in the past. This patch fixes those pieces simply by moving copy_from/to_user() out of the register mutex lock again.

CVE-2025-23136 - Linux Kernel Thermal Driver NULL Pointer Dereference Vulnerability
CVE ID : CVE-2025-23136
Published : April 16, 2025, 3:16 p.m. | 1 hour, 20 minutes ago
Description : In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: thermal: int340x: Add NULL check for adev Not all devices have an ACPI companion fwnode, so adev might be NULL. This is similar to the commit cd2fd6eab480 ("platform/x86: int3472: Check for adev == NULL"). Add a check for adev not being set and return -ENODEV in that case to avoid a possible NULL pointer deref in int3402_thermal_probe(). Note, under the same directory, int3400_thermal_probe() has such a check. [ rjw: Subject edit, added Fixes: ]

CVE-2025-23138 - Linux Kernel Pipe Buffer Underflow Vulnerability
CVE ID : CVE-2025-23138
Published : April 16, 2025, 3:16 p.m. | 1 hour, 20 minutes ago
Description : In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: watch_queue: fix pipe accounting mismatch Currently, watch_queue_set_size() modifies the pipe buffers charged to user->pipe_bufs without updating the pipe->nr_accounted on the pipe itself, due to the if (!pipe_has_watch_queue()) test in pipe_resize_ring(). This means that when the pipe is ultimately freed, we decrement user->pipe_bufs by something other than what than we had charged to it, potentially leading to an underflow. This in turn can cause subsequent too_many_pipe_buffers_soft() tests to fail with -EPERM. To remedy this, explicitly account for the pipe usage in watch_queue_set_size() to match the number set via account_pipe_buffers() (It's unclear why watch_queue_set_size() does not update nr_accounted; it may be due to intentional overprovisioning in watch_queue_set_size()?)
