🌿 6 Best Bedroom Plants That'll Improve Your Health and Wellness 🌿
1. Spider Plant — Best Plant to Remove Airborne Toxins
One of the most common and healthiest indoor plants available today
✅ Living with Children and Pets:
Very easy to grow and considered safe for dogs, cats, and kids! However, they contain a chemical compound related to opium, which although not toxic — may cause an upset stomach, vomiting, or diarrhea if eaten
💨 Health Benefits:
They purify the air by removing toxins like formaldehyde and carbon monoxide, both of which are commonly found in household items such as furniture, fabrics, and household cleaners
🟢 Likes: Bright, indirect sunlight and well-draining soil
🔴 Dislikes: Overwatering and direct sunlight, which can cause leaf burn
2. Lavender 💜 — Best Plant for Deeper Sleep and Air Purification
With its tiny purple flowers and calming fragrance, is perfect for bedrooms. It typically grows to be about 2–3 feet tall, though there are some shorter varieties. It also comes in pink and white varieties
💤 Health Benefits:
Known for reducing stress, anxiety, and insomnia. It can even help babies sleep more deeply. Because of its relaxing qualities, lavender is often found in products like essential oils, bath salts, and sleep masks
⚠️ Caution for Pets:
Contains linalool, which is toxic to both dogs and cats. Additionally, some people may be allergic to lavender, so test for any sensitivities before bringing it indoors
🟢 Likes: Full sun and regular watering. A south-facing window is ideal
🔴 Dislikes: Shade, poor drainage, and overwatering
3. Aloe Vera 🌵
A green succulent with speckled leaves edged in white spikes. The gel inside its leaves has been used for thousands of years to heal burns, cold sores, sunburns, and psoriasis.
🌬 Health Benefits:
Known to release oxygen at night, which improves the air quality in your bedroom while you sleep
⚠️ Caution for Pets:
Although aloe vera has many benefits for humans, it is mildly to moderately toxic to pets. If a dog or cat ingests aloe vera, it can cause vomiting, tremors, and diarrhea
🟢 Likes: Bright, indirect light and deep but infrequent watering
🔴 Dislikes: Direct sunlight (can brown leaves) and overwatering
4. English Ivy 🌿 — Best Plant for Your Respiratory System
An evergreen plant with beautiful glossy green leaves with white or yellow veins. It’s been admired since Roman times for both its aesthetics and healing properties
🫁 Health Benefits:
Helps relieve symptoms of asthma, COPD, and bronchitis. According to a NASA study, English ivy can reduce airborne mold by up to 94%, which improves your breathing and helps you sleep better
⚠️ Caution for Pets:
Toxic if eaten by pets. Symptoms may include vomiting, abdominal pain, and excessive drooling
🟢 Likes: Artificial light and frequent watering
🔴 Dislikes: Direct summer sun and dry conditions
5. Snake Plant 🐍 — Best Plant for Air Purification
Also known as mother-in-law’s tongue, is easily recognizable with its thick, upright leaves that are leathery to the touch
🌬 Health Benefits:
This plant is a powerhouse for air purification. It releases oxygen at night and removes toxins such as benzene, formaldehyde, xylene, and trichloroethylene, making it ideal for the bedroom
🐾 Pet Safety:
This plant is mildly toxic to pets. If eaten, it may cause nausea and vomiting in cats and dogs
🟢 Likes: Low light, infrequent watering, and being left alone
🔴 Dislikes: Overwatering and cold temperatures
6. Boston Fern 🌱 — Best Plant for Boosting Humidity and Cleaner Air
A lush green plant with soft, feathery fronds that look beautiful hanging in baskets or sitting in pots
💧 Health Benefits:
Boston ferns are natural humidifiers. They release moisture into the air, which helps relieve dry skin, sore throats, and cold symptoms. They also filter toxins like formaldehyde and xylene
🐾 Pet Friendly:
Good news — Boston ferns are non-toxic to both cats and dogs!
🟢 Likes: Indirect light, high humidity, and regular misting
🔴 Dislikes: Dry air, direct sun, and placement near radiators or vents

Food Warnings
Foods labeled ‘organic’, ‘herbal’, ‘antioxidant’, ‘healthy’ are not all healthy or safe beyond a certain amount.
In fact, this is true for most foods. Moderation is key.
Keep in mind :
By definition ‘a biologic, is any pharmaceutical drug product manufactured in, extracted from, or semisynthesized from biological sources’.
Now I have your attention🙏
Let’s look at something as ‘innocuous’ as NUTMEG

NUTMEG - the spice has a narrow margin of safety. The toxic dose of nutmeg is two to three teaspoons.
That sounds extreme, but the New England Journal of Medicine published a paper: ‘Nutmeg intoxication’…
Did the custom of adding nutmeg to eggnog become a tradition because of the psychopharmacological effects?
The literature described cases of nutmeg intoxication as far back as the 1500s.
The important message here is :
Get to know your food
Look up safety margins for your food & source their origins where possible 🙏

The difference between toothpastes by the color of the stripe
The color of the stripe on the tube of toothpaste indicates the ratio of natural and chemical ingredients in the composition.
🟢 A green stripe means the paste has the most natural composition. It’s considered suitable for daily use.
🔴 A red stripe means that the paste has a ‘balanced’ composition of natural and chemical ingredients. It’s suitable for daily use, but caution to people with allergies.
🔵 A blue stripe indicates a high-intensity composition that contains up to 80% chemicals. It can be used on a regular basis, but consider alternating with other, less active gels.
⚫️ A black stripe indicates a fully chemical formulation with high concentration of active ingredients. It is not intended for daily use.
Recommendation:
Look for an organic toothpaste with no fluoride Read ingredients to be sure they’re healthy
