ይህ ልዩ የአዲስ ዓመት ፕሮግራም ግብርናን፣ ኢንዱስትሪን እና የመንግሰት አገልግሎት አሰጣጥን ዲጂታል ለማድረግ ያለመ ነው።

🧑‍⚖️ Albania's "AI Minister" Delivers First Speech in Parliament

The world's first "virtual minister" took office in early September. Prime Minister Edi Rama introduced AI assistant Diella to oversee Albania's public procurement system as a solution to corruption, and promised to make tenders "100% free of corruption."

Opposition leaders argue that the appointment violates the constitution, as by law, a minister must be an Albanian citizen, and Diella, obviously, does not have a passport. Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has called the move unconstitutional and says the project is just for show, vowing to take it to the Constitutional Court.

In her video address, Diella told deputies that she is "not a threat to the constitution." She also emphasized she didn't come to replace people, but to help them, and noted she has already helped citizens with local government services nearly one million times through the e-Albania platform.

"Let me remind you, the real danger to constitutions has never been the machines but the inhumane decisions of those in power," Diella declared.

Yet the biggest question from critics remains: who will be responsible for mistakes made by the AI?
