👆Ans. C | Explanation

Here, Rate = Rs. 0.10/month per Rs. 2

So, rate per Rs. 1 = Rs. 0.05/month

Simple Interest = Principal × Rate × Time = 600 × 0.05 × 9 = Rs. 270

Hence, option (c) is correct.

If α and β are two real numbers such that α + β = - q/p and αβ = r/p, where 0<p<q<r (p, q, r are natural numbers), then which one of the following alternatives represents the highest value?
Anonymous Quiz
5%
(a) 1 / (α + β)
33%
(b) (1/ α) + (1/ β)
48%
(c) – 1/ (αβ)
13%
(d) αβ/(α + β)
👍4
📌 Ans. C | Explanation

It is given that α + β = - q/p and αβ = r/p, where 0<p<q<r

So, let’s assume p = 1, q = 2 and r = 3.

Putting these values in answer options, we get

(A) 1 / (α + β) = - p/q = - (1/2)

(B) (1/ α) + (1/ β) = (α + β)/ αβ = -(q/p) × (p/r) = - (q/r) = - (2/3)

(C) – 1/ (αβ) = -(p/r) = - (1/3)

(D) αβ/(α + β) = r/p × (-p/q)= - r/q = - (3/2)

We can see that, - (1/3) is the greatest among the above values.

Mr. Suresh owns a 5 metre × 4 metre coffee shop. He plans to tile the rectangular floor of this shop with grey-coloured square tiles. Each side of the tile measures 20 cm. What must be the total cost of fitting the tiles, if they cost Rs. 40 per piece?

(a) Rs. 12,000

(b) Rs. 16,000
24%
(c) Rs. 24,000
52%
(d) Rs. 20,000
👍4🔥1
📌 Ans. D | Explanation

Area of coffee shop = 5 metre × 4 metre = 20 square metres

Area of one tile = 0.2 metres × 0.2 metre = 0.04 square metres

Number of tiles required = Area of rectangular region / Area of one square tile = 20 square metres / 0.04 square metres = 500

Therefore, total cost of fitting the tiles = number of tiles × cost of fitting 1 tile = 500 × 40 = Rs. 20,000

Hence, option (D) is the correct answer.

Ans. C
Explanation:

We know that, if we mix any liquid with water and sell it at cost price to gain a profit of x%, then the ratio of liquid and water is (100:x).

Here, x = 25%

Required ratio = 100:25 = 4:1

Q. A number is multiplied by one-sixth, then divided by one-seventh, and then multiplied by seven-tenth. Result is what percent of the original number?

(b) 50/3%

(c) 245/3%

(d) 5/3%
👍1
📌 Ans. C | Explanation:

The best way to do this is to start with 100 and calculate the result.

The final number will be as follows:

[(100 × 1/6) ÷ 1/7] × 7/10

= (100/1) × (1/6) × (7/1) × (7/10)

= 245 /3 = 245/3%

So, the final number will be 245/3% of the original number.

61%
(b) 735 रुपये
24%
(c) 815 रुपये
5%
(d) 675 रुपये
👍2
📌 Ans. B | Explanation:
