👆Ans. B | Explanation:👆

Let store A has x books.

Then, books in store B = (2/5) x

& Books in store C = (2/5) x × 2/5 = 4x/25

According to the question,

x – 4x/25 = 2100

or 21x/25 = 2100

or x = 2500

Now, Number of books in store B = (2/5) x = (2/5) × 2500 = 1000

Dr. Bunti made a medicine by mixing two herbs X and Y. In 50 g of that medicine, the percentage of herb X is 40%. How much of herb X should Dr. Bunti add into it further so as to increase its percentage to 84%?

👆Ans. C | Explanation:👆

According to the question,

Quantity of herb X in 50 g of medicine = (40/100) × 50 = 20 g

Let x g of herb X is further mixed in the medicine.

Then, [(20 + x)/(50 + x)] × 100 = 84

Or 2000 + 100x = 4200 + 84x

Or 16x = 2200

Or x = 2200/16

Or x = 137.5 g

If the length of the minute hand of a round clock is 14 feet, then what will be the area swept by the minute hand in 20 minutes?

(c) 140/3 square feet

(d) 308 square feet

👆Ans. B | Explanation:👆

The hands of a clock move in a circular fashion and hence the minute hand in question can be considered as radius (r) of the circle it draws.

In 60 minutes, the minute hand covers a full circle, i.e. 360°.

Therefore, in 20 minutes, this hand would cover (360°/60) × 20° = 120°

Area swept by the minute hand = [θ/360°] × πr2 (here, r is the radius of the circle)

= [120°/360°] × (22/7) × 14 × 14

= 616/3 square feet.

If A = {a, b, c, d} and B = {b, d, f, h}, then which of the following is true for the sets A and B?
Anonymous Quiz
10%
(a) Sets A and B are equal.
24%
(b) Sets A and B are disjoint.
49%
(c) Sets A and B are equivalent.
17%
(d) None of these.
👍3
👆Ans. C | Explanation:👆

Given, A = {a, b, c, d}, and B = {b, d, f, h}

Equal sets have the exact same elements in them, even though they could be out of order. Equivalent sets have different elements but have the same number of elements. Two sets are called disjoint sets if they don't have any element in common.

Now, n(A) = 4 and n (B) = 4

So, sets A and B are equivalent, because both have the same number of elements.

Marked price of a phone is Rs. 16,000, which is 60% above the cost price of the phone. If it is sold at a discount of 12% on marked price, then find the profit percent.

(b) 42.7%

(c) 48.6%

👍2
👆Ans. D | Explanation:👆

Given, Marked price = Rs. 16000

So, Cost Price = (16000/160) × 100 = Rs. 10000

If it is sold at 12% discount, then Selling Price = 16000 × (88/100) = Rs. 14080

Profit on cost price = 14080 - 10000 = Rs. 4080

So, Profit percent = (4080/10000) × 100 = 40.8%

👆Ans. B | Explanation:👆

LCM of 6, 8, 10 = 120

Difference of divisor and remainder = 6 – 4 = 8 – 6 = 10 – 8 = 2

Hence, desired number = 120 – 2 = 118

Ans. B | Explanation:
