Until 2018, shops in Kerala could not remain open late at night. Law did not permit women to work night shifts & registering a commercial establishment was a herculean and expensive task.
Our project supported by Atlas Network to amend the 'Kerala Shops & Establishments Act' has been an arduous effort to shatter the gender barriers in employment and take a step ahead in economic freedom.
