Most NLUs don’t publish UG medians properly, a few big offers pump up the image, and suddenly everyone thinks NLUs = jackpot.

Reality is, funding works in layers:
Central govt scholarships (SC/ST, merit) → can cover major costs
State scholarships → apply via domicile (even if NLU is elsewhere)
NLU financial aid → merit-cum-means, fee waivers
Private scholarships (Aditya Birla, IDIA, etc.)
Loans / fee deferment as backup
A lot of students combine 2–3 of these.
📌 Key mistake: people apply to one scheme or none at all.
📌 Key idea:
Get the rank first → then aggressively explore funding.
Bottom line:
NLUs are expensive only if you don’t understand the system.
