There is not even a single day when students are not having errors on the SPOM site.

Not enough centers are available for the exam.

Even after paying 500 Rs for one paper, the institute is wasting so much time and energy of students.

Different errors, login issues, slot availability—so many issues are there. And now, today, they added one more line after the lecture completion, saying they will review it.

This is just to generate fear in students and make them wait because they have not made sufficient slots available before introducing exam.

This is the worst management and torture for the students.

I strongly urge all students to continuously mail and call them if you are facing any issues. If thousands of students raise issues on a daily basis, then only they will take this seriously.

➨ The Passing Percentage of the SPOM exam is just amazing, almost 65-70% of students are clearing it.

As told earlier, this paper is not as difficult as the main core papers. With decent preparation, you can definitely clear it easily.

ICAI also knows this paper is not very relevant. It's a complete waste as these marks will not be added to aggregate, nor you will see a separate mention on the mark sheet. Once you pass the exam, just forget about it.

➨ Upcoming students should clear this exam now because later you should focus only on the main core papers. Many students have already cleared it in the first attempt with just one reading.

Don't waste time on detailed study or classes. You can study from revision lectures, ICAI SM questions, and BOS MCQs. For SCMPE, heard that ICAI lectures are also good.

Summary of Important Taxation Amendments - Budget 2024

For May/Nov 2024 Exam, the applicable Finance Act is still 2023, not 2024.

Both interim and this final budgets 2024 are applicable from may 2025 exam.

New Tax Regime Tax Slabs for F.Y. 24-25

0-3L = Nil
3L to 7L = 5%
7L to 10L = 10%
10L to 12L = 15%
12L to 15L = 20%
Above 15L = 30%

Standard Deduction to Salaried employees :
Increased to 75k from 50K

Family Pension Exemption
Increased to - 25K from 15K

Stock Market / Capital Gain

➨ STCG on Eq Shares u/s 111A:
Increased to 20% from 15%

➨ LTCG on Eq Shares u/s 112A:
Increased to 12.5% from 10%

➨ LTCG Exemption on Eq Shares u/s 112A:
Increased to 1.25 Lacs from 1 Lacs

➨ LTCG on all Other Assets
Reduced from 20% to 12.5%
[Benefit of Indexation has been eliminated]

Above changes applicable from TODAY (23rd July) and not from 1st April.

➨ STT on Futures increased to 0.02% from 0.0125%
➨ STT on Options increased to 0.1% from 0.0625%

STT rate change effective from 1st Oct 2024

➨ Buyback of Shares to be taxed in hands of Recipient
