Tip #5 - Writing All Questions.

In case the ICAI sets a challenging paper, consider attempting all 6 questions. Let me share my experience from the law paper, which was very difficult, I tackled all 6 questions.
Strategic Order: I attempted Q3 at last since it was my least confident area. Surprisingly, it earned me 2.5 marks (my sixth question). And q5 earned me 1.5 marks(attempted 3rd question) was considered as optional

This shows that attempting all questions can be beneficial, especially when facing a difficult paper.
EVEN THOUGH ICAI SAYS IT CHECKS THE FIRST 4 QUESTIONS OUT OF 5 QUESTIONS(except Q1), IN REALITY IT CHECKS THE BEST 4.
SO ATTEMPT THE BEST 4 FIRST AND THEN ATTEMPT THE 5TH QUESTION.

1] Underlining the key words...
On an average an examiner takes 10 to 15 minutes to go through your paper.
So assuming u write around 30 to 40 pages, examiner reads 1 page in around 15 to 20 seconds...
So its very important to fetch his attention to the key words u hav written.

2] Leaving lines between points

3] Writing it big and clear

4]  Legible handwriting
beautiful handwriting not required

Imagine you're a detective solving a case, but your suspects are the answer choices. Here's how to crack the code:

Read Closely:  Pay attention to the question, especially words like "not" or "except." They can change everything!

Check the Choices:   Briefly look at all the answers to get a sense of what they're saying.

Eliminate Bad Choices:  ❌ Get rid of any answers that are clearly wrong or don't fit the question.

Focus on What's Left:   Now you have fewer choices to deal with.

Think Like a Pro:   Use your FR knowledge to analyze the remaining answers. This helps you pick the best guess.

Trust Your Gut:   Sometimes, even after thinking it through, you might have a feeling about an answer. Go with it!

Example: Putting It to Work

Let's say you have an MCQ about Ind AS 16 (Property, Plant & Equipment) in your CA Final exam:

Question: "Which of these is NOT included in the cost of equipment according to Ind AS 16?"
A) Purchase price
B) Directly attributable costs
C) General office expenses
D) Initial estimate of dismantling and removal costs

How to be an MCQ Detective:

Focus on the word "not"

Eliminate the Obvious Culprits: We know the purchase price and directly attributable costs are part of the asset's cost, so they're out.

Focus on the Remaining options: We're left with general office expenses and dismantling/removal costs.

Use Your FR Brainpower:  Ind AS 16 doesn't include everyday office costs in the asset price, but it does consider dismantling costs.

Trust Your Gut: Based on this, the most logical answer is probably C) general office expenses
By using the elimination technique, you can become an MCQ master
