The Britannia was situated at 64 Frances Street (until street name changes in the 1940s it was 59 Henry Street).

Vaughan Williams 1946-1950 "This was my dads first pub and my first home aged three months. I have some memories of bomb sites, steam roller often parked outside and horse drawn milk floats overturning on the hill."
