Footage/Documentary of The Turks Head, Brierley Hill during the 1950's - 148 High Street, Brierley Hill, #WestMidlands, #England, #DY5 - PART 1

The footage is a key insight into the charming, comforting nature of Britain's old public houses. The simplicity of them, mixed with the lack of todays technology allowed room for cosy and culturally recognisable settings. Many pubs and memories are mentioned in this fascinating video. Pub lovers, this one will certainly resonate with you. 🤝🍻
The Britannia was situated at 64 Frances Street (until street name changes in the 1940s it was 59 Henry Street).

Account from someone who's father ran the pub..

Vaughan Williams 1946-1950 "This was my dads first pub and my first home aged three months. I have some memories of bomb sites, steam roller often parked outside and horse drawn milk floats overturning on the hill."

Though the week has finished,
And work is at an end.
It's only just beginning,
As I've much work to attend. 🍻
