For DeSantis to defeat Trump and become the nominee, he needs at least 40% of the Trump base to vote for him.
It's simple mathematics.
But that will NEVER happen.
The Trump base is focussed entirely on Trump's second term.
Then why launch a kamikaze suicide mission like he has?
There are only two reasons:

1) DeSantis is actually an idiot who is deluded, or
2) He knows something about what will happen to Trump (court cases, indictments etc) that no one else does and has gained this info through the Establishment
