The US House Judiciary Committee has narrowly backed legislation that's being dubbed the "break up" bill. Effectively, it could mean tech giants splitting in two.
The “Ending Platform Monopolies Act” passed 21-20, and would prevent companies selling products which they control on their own platforms. The bill intends to end any conflict of interest. It would be a problem for Google which ranks video on its search engine, and Amazon which pushes its own products over rivals for example.
