๐จ๐ณ๐น๐ผ In something of a farce, it has emerged components of Taiwanese anti ship missiles were sent to mainland China for repairs. Known as Hsiung Feng 3, these missiles are a major element in Taiwanโs arsenal to deter naval landings by the PLA but use Swiss gyroscopes from Leica Geosystems. The oversight occurred as a result of Leica sending them for repair in China instead of Switzerland itself as planned.
Adding to the irony, it is alleged this was only noticed by Taiwanese authorities after their return by tracing the send location to a facility in Shandong in the PRC.
