We are absolutely in a stage of laying a new foundation. I do not think we will be the ones to transform society, but I do think we will live to see it happen. So many possibilities exist now that did not only a couple of generations ago, but most of them are rootless, ephemeral, lacking in true substance. Putting down metaphysical roots and beginning to nourish ourselves, and our ideas, with the elements of perennial truth is our task.

We must become self reliant, entrusting nothing to the present system, especially not the education of our children; we must take the responsibility to free ourselves, and carry the weight of the world on our own shoulders.

Cultivating spiritual practice will provide us both the motivation and the sustenance to carry out this task.
