Tuchel wants 3 CB's

Ake ✅

Chelsea remain in negotiations regarding defenders Matthijs de Ligt, Presnel Kimpembe, Jules Kounde and Kalidou Koulibaly.

The traveling squad for the USA tour! #BluesInTheUSA

75m for #Raphinha. He is never worth that.

All yours Barca. We’ve heard there’s alternative targets, #Boehly, time to work… #Chelsea

Glad that saga’s over. Everyone, move on.

Koulibaly is flying to London today and will undergo his medical tomorrow.

No news on when he will join the squad, but if Ake is done swiftly, both could head to Charlotte or LA later this week.

But Chelsea’s interest in Koulibaly isn’t new. Always on the list and finally Napoli prepared to do business. Medical due in London. Nathan Ake also getting closer. Told an agreed fee with #MCFC is not far off.

With #Koulibaly imminent, Kimpembe possibly next in for #Chelsea

PSG have set price of €50m + €10m bonuses after initial contact from Chelsea on Monday

Still some way apart on valuations

We’re not messing about

#Sterling ✅
Koulibaly ⏳
Kimpembe ?

Koundé-Koulibaly automatically gives Chelsea a centre-back partnership that enables Tuchel to use a back 4 system and also implement a high defensive line on the level of Konaté-Van Dijk & Dias-Laporte. It would be a crucial double swoop to help Tuchel cut the gap to the top two.

People about Kimpembe or Koundé
- Kimpembe's situation hasn't changed from yesterday's update. Clubs still need to agree a fee.
- The club may well look at a formal offer for Koundé but face competition from Barcelona
- Once either are signed, outgoings will be priority.

At the moment, I understand the plan would be to sign both.
However, it is a fluid situation as we've seen this week with Aké. Priorities can shift.

Koundé’s build-up quality from right-sides CB is special. He can literally destroy the first line of a press by carrying the ball or passing thru it. Koulibaly’s passing is more effective at left-sided CB. It’s clear which deal out of Kimpembe vs Koundé that Boehly must complete.

#Kounde and #Kimpembe in short -

Next week, Chelsea will negotiate for both and try to get a lower price than the sellers ideally would like to sell for.

Let’s see.

In terms of the one or both question: Hard to tell right now. If the $$ is right, you could see both…

If I was a betting man, I’d guess one. To clarify, hard to tell as of today. Let’s see early next week.
