Hayley Arceneaux made history during the Inspiration4 mission in 2021 as the first person to bring a zero-gravity plush toy into space. Named “Jude,” the plush was created to honor and support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital a cause deeply personal to Hayley, who is herself a childhood cancer survivor.

Three years later, fellow childhood cancer survivor Liv Perroto continued this meaningful tradition on the Polaris Dawn mission in 2024, bringing her own zero-g plush named “Asteroid” to space, also in support of St. Jude.

While both women share powerful similarities surviving childhood cancer, flying on historic SpaceX missions, and using zero-gravity plush toys to raise awareness and funds for St. Jude Hayley’s “Jude” holds a special place as the very first zero-g plush toy ever released in space, specifically named “Jude,” back in 2021.
