To create a database for cars with real mileage, we will create a communication device with our platform based on GPS/IoT/M2M technologies, which is mounted in a car, reads information from your car computer and transmits it to the Bookmap server. This will allow you to count the exact car mileage and inform a car owner about every possible type of errors in the system through the Bookmap application.
Part 5: Bookmap Mileage Counter
Bookmap Mileage Counter will be installed in partner car service stations. This will not only ensure authenticity of a car mileage, but also will be an irreplaceable helper in searching for a car if the latter one is stolen.
To prevent unauthorized (even temporary) deactivation of Bookmap Mileage Counter, the most stable connection with the Bookmap platform will be provided that records any signal loss.
To obtain more precise data and greater opportunities from Bookmap Mileage Counter, we cooperate with company (1ot.mobi) that provides services in the IoT field (Internet of Things)/M2M (Machine-to-Machine), eSIM (virtual SIM cards).
Bookmap Mileage Counter calculates car mileage, but the car route will not be saved. A car owner will always be able to see the location of his/her car in the personal cabinet on the Bookmap platform.

In the Bookmap ecosystem, we try to take into account the interests of both progressive crypto-enthusiasts and the conservatives of the modern world. Therefore, we introduced a smart system of payment services - Bookmap Smartpay.
Part 5: Bookmap Smartpay
A smart payment system that will allow you to accept payment in BKM tokens and combined token/euro payment (or other fiduciary currency). In the personal cabinet of a car service station there will be an option to set the number of tokens to be accepted when a car owner pays the bill.
Bookmap Smartpay will automatically calculate and award users party to transaction cashback in BKM tokens. Every payment will receive a cashback option that was made using tokens:
β’ combined payments, which include part of the amount in euros and part of the amount in tokens; β’ 100 per cent payment in tokens.
The size of cashback will depend directly on the ratio of tokens and fiduciary currency in the transaction. It will be possible to pay for the services through Bookmap only in fiduciary currency (first of all, euro). However, in this case neither a car owner nor a car service station will receive cashback. Thus, we will stimulate the turnover of BKM tokens and gradually increase its value.

Part 7: Bookmap Change
Bookmap Change will make the exchange transactions as simple as possible. Exchange can be made by any registered member of the platform, who will link his/her bank card to the system (for example, Visa or/and MasterCard). Bookmap Change will allow you to exchange any fiduciary currency (euro, dollar, ruble, etc.) for BKM token and use it in Bookmap Ecosystem.
Please note that possibilities of an exchange of fiduciary currency for BKM tokens will be implemented step by step, depending on scaling of Bookmap to new foreign markets, local legislation and other possible reasons.

The platform will track and transfer data about repair work and any other technical service, including tech inspection, to Bookmap Car History Checker. Every time you contact a car service point, Bookmap Aggregator will record the data about your car's mileage and work done, including replaced parts, indicating the mark of these spare parts. For example, if in the course of technical inspection or maintenance lower mileage than during repairs in another car service station was recorded, the mileage data is recorded in blockchain with a note that Bookmap cannot guarantee the reliability of odometer readings.
We cannot exclude the human factor when recording odometer readings, that is why we are going to develop a special function in a mobile application that will record odometer readings through additional validation algorithm using a smartphone or tablet camera.
In this way, you can identify a car with a flawless odometer history.

Having analysed various options, we decided that the Hyperledger Fabric system from the Linux Foundation is most appropriate for storing data in blockchain.
Hyperledger Fabric is a limited-access blockchain framework. It differs from public blockchains in which each user has all rights and opportunities, has access to reading of the data, can perform transactions and build blocks.
Hyperledger Fabric is an instrument that allows to establish private channels between the system members, thus providing opportunities of access to data and isolating only a certain user group. Since car history is a kind of information that has commercial value, only several resellers will likely have access to full history. Based on the above, it is possible to assert that Hyperledger Fabric meets the requirements of the Bookmap project.

To store car history the limited access to blockchain is a necessary requirement because in this case only authenticated users (car service stations and tech inspection services) will have the opportunity to enter data into Bookmap blockchain.
In any practical implementation of a Business Network in Hyperledger Fabric, the relationship between participants and assets has a clear description and a set of rules and rights. Each member of the network must be identified having received his/her own certificate.
In our case, in order to be able to enter data about the changes in car's mileage into blockchain, each tech inspection station and car service station are subject to mandatory identification. Data validation and verifying that car mileage cannot be decreasingly changed will be done in the analogue of smart contract that is available in Hyperledger Fabric. Other forms of validation will also be developed.
If any car service station is guilty of abusing its rights and providing incorrect information, it will be immediately excluded from the list of participants of the Bookmap Business Network.

In 2016, Toyota joined R3 CEV consortium, thus showing interest in blockchain technologies. Toyota is going to use blockchain in the management of supply networks as well as in automotive systems.
In 2017, Daimler AG joined the Hyperledger project under the leadership of Linux Foundation, whose IT executive director joined it as a member of the board of the project. This was an additional argument in favour of our choice of the Hyperledger technologies, as a key decision in the Bookmap project, on the basis of which we are going to build the car history keeping service in blockchain. Together with the Estonian 1ot.mobi startup we 28 are going to develop a reliable system for transmitting GPS data through IoT technologies and for storing data in blockchain.
