Recently, I started associating taking IELTS with marriage. You know how some people complain about not being ready for marriage and expect you to motivate them to marry?

That's exactly what I feel when a student expects us to almost force them to take IELTS. But I am not in a position these days to make such important decisions on behalf of someone. IELTS is expensive, quite difficult in some moments and obviously stressful. Sounds like marriage to a certain extent.

So when I hear stuff like "do you think I am ready?" or "do you think I should take it?" I just say "I don't know". You can stay single forever. And you can study IELTS forever, too. Risks are everywhere, and I am not here to force you into taking risks. Especially given how sensitive people have become over their results. One poor listening result and I see teardrops.
