Another reason why saving Credit/Debit card details or password in the browser is a bad idea....

"The Dutch National Police announced on Monday having gained โ€œfull accessโ€ to all of the servers used by the Redline and Meta infostealers, two of the most widely used cybercrime tools on the internet.

Infostealer malware is a major cybersecurity threat, often sold as a malware-as-a-service tool, that infects victimsโ€™ devices to harvest information such as credit card details and autofill password data."

If you are able to access a used computer. Handy to check these items. A used system is often great for putting your first experience on Linux. You can maintain your daily driver (Everyday use device) and learn Linux at your leisure.

With a lot of folks, myself included, installing Chirp to Program a new Radio, and using Linux to do so, there have been some issues I've seen in the Chat regarding communicating with the Radio. When Chirp is installed, you have to set permissions for the Comm Port, and also set a Comm Port for your Adapter. Most users are using USB to Serial Adapters. These are in effect a Comm Port. In Windows, it's easy to see or change the device and its settings. Not so much in Linux. This Article is a good primer for using Comm Ports in the Linux environment.

This has been the goal of Microsoft for a long time. PC by subscription everything being done from within the cloud. This would be the biggest nightmare for privacy and security for the individual.

This is not an advertisement to continue using Windows. However it is a good list of the privacy nightmare that is collected from you by default. Windows is the very embodiment of the data harvesting industry in a nutshell. There is also a good tidbit about why you shouldn't allow even anonymous data collection.
