In 2021, HAPI started working to create a new storage project called Machina. In 2022, a new team came together to carry the idea forward, who at that time created the OnMachina Association, calling the project OnMachina. At that time, the new team changed course on technical development and decided against tokenization of the service.
After discussions between the representatives of both teams about the future direction of the project, the original team has decided to refund the community in the amount of 7,500 $HAPI. This decision is the most appropriate path forward given that there are no current plans for an OnMachina token.
HAPI Team comment:
“Initially, funds were raised for the development and further tokenization of the Machina project. This would reward early adopters and fund the project as a whole. The project was subsequently handed over by decision of Near foundation members to the OnMachina team, which changed the course of development by excluding tokenization from its plan. So from our side we will try to jointly minimize and plan further actions to reward and reimburse the community in a fair manner "
OnMachina Association team comment:
“Last year as we formed the OnMachina Association, we started a new technical direction to build a powerful decentralized infrastructure service. During that process we failed to maintain clear communication with some of the early community members, and for that we apologize. We also want to thank the HAPI team for their work building the initial community. We have just launched our initial Beta access program for a storage network and are excited about the future of the project.”
Refund will be detailed in the next several days. All those who participated in the sale will receive a portion of $HAPI back.
